So, recall that doodle I posted? Manifestly it wants to be a fanfic, and who am I to contradict its ritght to exist?
This will apparently just be a series of very brief one-shots. If I plan anything bigger, it will devour me.

Whiskey had always been Numskull's vice of choice. The label didn't body,- although he had always been partial to 'Jameson's Of ireland'. It was the numbness Tony had always been after. The peace of his thoughts. The accusatory reduce to ashes as the amber liquid had burnt on the surface the back of throat, followed by the dulling stupefaction of his thoughts that became heavier the more he drank had always felt parallel forgiveness to him. He had a lot to apologise for, many to apologies to, but he couldn't never say the tongues out loud and instead had toasted to them silently as he'd topped back another mouthful of failure of memory and had silently promised himself that was the last duration...

Over six years of sobriety. It should have felt allied an achievement, like it meant something, but Anthony Edward Rigid couldn't help but contemplate the mistakes he'd made back when he'd taken a bottle back to bed with him in place of a partner were nothing in comparison to how he'd managed to fuck up freshly.

Steve had died. Steve had... he had died; and for what exactly? Registry? Freedom? Liberty and fair play for all?

Christ.

Tony hadn't drank then. God he couldn't have. Not after the alphabetic character. He wouldn't do that, wouldn't shipwreck Steve's memory by drowning it with spirits of wine when the other man had done so much to support him, the only one to believe he hadn't been tippling after the debacle with the U.N. He refused to dim everything Steve had done for him by drinking it all absent.
